The sci-fi flick is visually pleasing, if you can get past the sometimes unsettling makeup and prosthetics. YEP - If there was an Oscar awarded for Best Trailer, Cloud Atlas would have walked away with the statue, no contest. For those unfamiliar with the source material, Cloud Atlas stretches across 500 years and six, mind-boggling and interconnecting stories. ClearPlay is a device that allows filtering of regular DVD movies. A complex and distinctive nearly three-hour film that may take more than one viewing to really appreciate. I didn't read David Mitchell's novel, and maybe that's why I was so utterly baffled and confused by this movie. On Monday I watched Cloud Atlas. This Week in Home Video previews all the latest Blu-ray, DVD and on-demand titles hitting the street this week, plus lost gems, crazed Cancon, outrageous cult titles and the best places to rent or buy movies in Toronto.
